2026 Octobrt 1st – Special Membership Meeting Minutes

LORD’S POINT ASSOCIATION, INC.
SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
DATE:  October 1, 2026     
TIME:  5PM 
LOCATION: LPA Community House and by Zoom

The meeting was called to order at 5:02pm by Nancy Walker, President.

Present: Nancy Walker, Michael Walker, Sam Orr, Peter Chomowicz and by Zoom: Bryan Bentz and Steven Dodd (at 5:12pm)

Absent: Ray Thompson, Jen Daly-McFadden, Jim Turner 

Guests: Rob Lewandowski, Edie Morren, John Duggan

  • Rob Lewandowski and Peter Chomowicz presented 5 options to review for going forward with Shore Design from new granite blocks to used granite to pre-cast concrete blocks to concrete.
  • All present agreed that the new granite blocks was the best option for long term, costing more upfront but less maintenance over the years compared to options using concrete and longer life.
  • Sam Orr advised that there were many costly repair jobs done on the current wall.  Nancy mentioned previous identified concerns were water line and loss of beach.  
  • Rob advised that they would look to straighten the wall so it would return flow back to sea and not come over the wall as it does now.  Also, would have some “stairs” or steps in the placement of the granite blocks.  
  • Sam argued in favor of the new Granite blocks and all agreed.  They will have some flexibility to withstand strong currents and would be placed on a foundation of stones.  Pictures were distributed of a granite block wall in Groton Long Point.
  • A motion was made by Sam Orr to go forward with Option 1 new granite block wall, future pricing to be determined and Rob Lewandowski to advise Shore Design.   Seconded by Bryan Bentz and unanimously approved.  
  • Further discussion was held that Shore Design would be making the plans to obtain approvals and permits (for example, line, elevation, location).  Later, these plans would be given to contractors who would quote a granite block wall to fit the design.  At that time, we would review pricing for a new granite block wall and any of the other alternatives, if so desired due to price.
  • Rob Lewandowski will advise Shore Design of our plans for the wall and ask for a design using granite blocks.  Rob will advise if there is an additional design cost.
  • Motion to adjourn 5:52pm unanimously approved.
